Warn Industries Inc. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Powder Coating Technician to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of powder coating equipment, ensuring high-quality finishes on various surfaces.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and operate powder coating equipment, including guns, booths, and curing ovens.
- Select appropriate powder coatings based on job requirements, ensuring proper adhesion and finish.
- Follow all Traveler procedures needed for each product.
- Maintain ability to Powder coat columns in less than 20 minus and maintain a re-coat level of less than 5%.
- Adjust and monitor equipment settings to achieve desired coating thickness and appearance.
- Conduct quality checks on coated products to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Clean and prepare surfaces for coating, including degreasing, sanding, and masking.
- Inspect materials for defects, such as rust or dents, and address any issues before the coating process.
- Perform regular maintenance on powder coating equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions or issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with maintenance staff to address any mechanical or electrical problems.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to powder coating processes and materials.
- Document any deviations from standard procedures and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with other team members to prioritize and schedule powder coating jobs.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and quality control personnel.
- Conduct visual inspections of finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Address any issues with coatings, such as uneven application or color variations.
- Ability to read tape measures and protractors. (digital & non-digital)
- Maintain understanding of Powder lift controls.
- Have basic understanding of Powder Coating / Sandblast troubleshooting procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in powder coating is a plus.
- Prior experience as a Powder Coating Technician in a manufacturing or production environment is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of powder coating equipment, application techniques, and curing processes.
- Must be able to read a tape measure, and protractor.
- Must be able to lift up to 80lbs, and report to work on time, daily. Must be able to perform Team Lifts as needed.
- Familiarity with different types of coatings, materials, and their applications.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality standards.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic understanding of safety regulations and environmental compliance.
- Ability to understand written work instructions and procedures written in English, prints, and tool gauges, measuring devices and inspection tools.

- Well-reasoned decision making with a high attention to detail to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
Shifts:
3rd – EVENING – Sunday to Friday – 9:30pm to 6am with occasional overtime as needed. 15% shift differential available
Due to the nature and scope of the essential functions of this position, the importance of personal interactions with coworkers, and the availability of job-related tools, equipment and resources at work, performance of the essential functions requires regular, consistent availability, accessibility, and presence on-site.
Approximately 40 hours / week may be required to efficiently perform the job duties of this position, including presence at designated internal and external meetings. This position may also require availability and accessibility to respond to and address emergencies and critical situations outside of normal business operating hours in the early mornings, evenings and/or during weekends. Overtime may be scheduled and required to meet departmental needs.
Language SkillsAbility to read, write, verbalize and comprehend instructions and correspondence at the highest levels in the English language. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, and other team members. Advanced conflict resolution skills. Excellent interpersonal skills.
Mathematical SkillsMust have mathematical skills equivalent to those required under degree requirements. Higher skills may be required depending on actual job duties.

Physical DemandsMay require a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. May require lifting up to 50 pounds with assistance.
Environmental/Atmospheric ConditionsMust be able to work in a shop environment, as well as a usual office environment. May be exposed to loud operating machinery, cold and hot temperatures, chemicals, and vapors.
