Job Summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead our Water/Wastewater Division in Sanford, FL. The successful candidate will oversee the overall performance of projects from estimating to successful completion, ensuring safety, owner satisfaction, cost, schedule, and quality control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client and Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with clients, architects, and engineers to ensure a positive experience with Wharton-Smith.
  • Project Coordination: Partner with Preconstruction Services to optimize value engineering, solicit bidders, and generate proposals.
  • Cost and Schedule Management: Set up and maintain project cost accounting, develop and maintain project schedules, and track and evaluate subcontractor change management.
  • Subcontractor and Vendor Management: Negotiate subcontractor agreements, review and approve pay applications and vendor invoices, and manage execution of contracts and bonds.
  • Quality and Safety: Monitor the submittal, shop drawing, and purchase order process to ensure accurate and timely delivery of equipment and materials, and visit job sites to review job progress and quality of work.
  • Financial Management: Review and report project financial information, performance, and any major conflicts to the Division Manager.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other relevant degree.
  • Experience: Relevant water/wastewater construction experience, preferably with self-perform crews, and proven success in completing multimillion-dollar projects.
  • Skills: Computer-based CPM Scheduling Programs, Construction Management Software, and Microsoft Office Products.
