Renewal Underwriter

We are seeking an experienced Renewal Underwriter to join our team at Selective Insurance. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for managing and underwriting MUSIC Brokerage renewal business, ensuring that our agency partners receive exceptional service and guidance.

• Manage and underwrite MUSIC Brokerage renewal business, ensuring that our agency partners receive exceptional service and guidance.
• Analyze and evaluate risk exposure for assigned renewals, providing quotes that support our growth and profitability goals.
• Evaluate risk hazards and ensure adequate pricing of individual risks through proper classification, accuracy of information, and adherence to company underwriting standards and pricing philosophy.
• Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external customers, providing guidance and technical advice as needed.
• Conduct continuous profit and growth analysis by territory and agency, making recommendations to improve outcomes.
• Monitor premium retention by General agency and take action when necessary to achieve Music Brokerage team goals.

• Proficient in usage of all supplied desktop tools, including the automated underwriting and email systems.
• Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers/peers.
• Ability to adapt to change as the company moves forward in its strategic vision.
• Must have valid state-issued driver's license in good standing and be able to drive an automobile.
• College degree preferred.
• 1-3 years of underwriting experience preferred.
