Position Summary

We are seeking a committed professional to join our organization as a Heavy Equipment Shop Lead. In this role, you will be tasked with supervising a proficient team responsible for conducting repairs, routine servicing, and inspections on a variety of construction, asphalt paving, and mining machinery.

Primary Duties:

  • Oversee maintenance and repair operations for all fleet heavy machinery and vehicles within an asphalt production and paving enterprise.
  • Establish departmental goals and objectives, working diligently to meet them.
  • Recruit, train, inspire, guide, and assess the performance of all workshop personnel.
  • Encourage collaboration and teamwork within the department and across other divisions.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations governing service operations.
  • Track technicians' productivity and manage payroll documentation.
  • Coordinate the activities and schedules of all workshop staff.
  • Follow up on parts requisitions to guarantee availability.
  • Maintain strong partnerships with suppliers.
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety in work areas for all employees.
  • Conduct regular quality assessments on completed tasks.
  • Stay informed about new equipment and tools, making recommendations for acquisitions.
  • Ensure proper care, storage, and inventory management of specialized tools.
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor and appearance as a representative of the organization.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, manuals, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with computer applications and the capability to produce reports and correspondence.
  • Excellent presentation and communication abilities.
  • Capacity to analyze technical documents and resolve practical issues.
