**About the Role**

W. Craig Adams, Inc. is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team in York, PA. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing detailed estimates while securing competitive pricing from material suppliers.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Collaborate with the estimating team to choose projects to bid and schedule.
  • Obtain plans and specifications for projects chosen for bid, including addenda and updates.
  • Contact vendors for pricing on materials and services necessary to compile an estimate.
  • Ensure all projects are bid within the specifications requested.
  • Prepare scope of work for projects bid and proposals.
  • Ensure proposals and all necessary paperwork are submitted in a timely manner.
  • Review estimates with the team.
  • Compare contract scope of work and plans for projects awarded to the proposal and bid plans.
  • Work closely with the team on projects awarded to ensure that all information is communicated accurately and that the project is completed per scope of work.
  • Prepare change order pricing for additional scope of work/drawing changes for projects.
  • Assist in obtaining submittal information and purchasing materials if necessary.
  • Maintain an updated list of projects bid for follow-up on bids.
  • Maintain a highly professional relationship with all customers while ensuring a good company image.
  • Attend weekly review, scope, and turnover meetings.
  • Review job cost of historical data/active jobs.

**Requirements**

  • Prior estimating experience is required.
  • An engineering, construction management, or related degree is preferred.
  • Agtek or InSite earthwork takeoff software knowledge is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand detailed blueprints.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
