Position Overview
The Systems Engineering Division (SED) boasts extensive expertise in systems engineering, offering services to the U.S. government and various public and private entities, including universities and nonprofit organizations. Our focus encompasses systems architecture development, system analysis, optimization, astrodynamics, orbital debris management, navigation, failure analysis, mission assurance, and economic market analysis, applying a diverse range of engineering and business disciplines to address national challenges.
Work Model
This role requires full on-site presence.
Key Responsibilities
The Systems Performance, Estimation and Algorithms Department (SPEAD) is responsible for algorithm development, evaluation, and modeling, simulation, and analysis for national security space clients. The selected individual will lead projects in threat characterization and radar modeling.
- Co-lead studies to analyze and forecast threat systems utilizing validated intelligence and engineering insights.
- Oversee the technical advancement of the Advanced Sensor Performance Evaluation & Concept Toolkit (ASPECT) and related radar modeling initiatives.
- Facilitate the implementation of Aerospace tools and frameworks with government clients, translating customer challenges into actionable tasks.
- Enhance SPEAD's expertise in modern algorithm design techniques and innovative problem-solving methods.
Qualifications for Project Leader
- Master's degree in engineering, science, or a relevant technical field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Demonstrated project management and leadership capabilities.
- Experience in systems engineering analysis related to radar and space surveillance systems.
- Involvement in the development of computational tools and simulations for interdisciplinary analyses.
- Strong background in statistics, estimation, controls, or signal processing, with experience in radar tracking algorithms.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as FORTRAN, C++, Matlab, Python, Java, or C.
- Ability to think broadly and quickly grasp a variety of capabilities and tools.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently with high-level personnel.
- This position mandates a current TS/SCI security clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship.
Additional Requirements for Senior Project Leader
- At least 12 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in engineering, science, or a relevant technical discipline.
- Academic background in systems engineering and simulation/modeling.
- Experience with radar design trade studies and requirements definition.
- Leadership in system architecture or enterprise-level algorithm assessments.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Engineering and Technology Group's capabilities.
