Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Summary:

The City of Oxnard, CA is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining heavy equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operation, and performing routine maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment, such as forklifts, wheel loaders, and skid steers, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, repairs, and replacements of equipment parts.
  • Ensure all equipment is in good working condition and report any issues to the supervisor.
  • Assist in training lower-level positions and participate in a comprehensive Health and Safety program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Three (3) years of technical maintenance experience related to the assignment.
  • Availability to work weekends.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment, including where obtained and during what period.

Working Conditions:

The Heavy Equipment Operator will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to heavy equipment, machinery, and tools. The position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
