Position Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Project Manager to join our team. This role will primarily support the Geotechnical Engineering department in the broader region. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing project engineers and contributing to the growth and efficient operation of Raba Kistner, Inc.'s Geotechnical Engineering business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and direct field-logging activities when engineering supervision is necessary during drilling operations.
- Coordinate drilling activities with subcontractors and internal field staff.
- Supervise the classification of soil samples in the laboratory.
- Manage laboratory-testing assignments in accordance with established testing programs.
- Analyze field data and laboratory test results, performing necessary calculations for engineering reports.
- Coordinate the preparation of geotechnical engineering reports for review, ensuring quality in final submissions.
- Collaborate with other divisions or consultants for project support as needed.
- Support field operations during construction as required.
- Monitor product quality and technology to ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
- Provide mentorship and professional development to team members.
- Participate in the Raba Kistner Health and Safety Programs, setting a positive safety example.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding project schedules, milestones, and scope adjustments.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and Statements of Qualifications, engaging in business development activities.
- Actively participate in relevant technical and professional organizations as directed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Construction/Geotechnical Engineering, or
- Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution with at least 5 years of relevant Geotechnical Engineering experience.
- Professional Engineer's license for the State of Texas or the ability to obtain one within 6 months if licensed in another state.
- Possess a valid state-issued driver's license and meet the company's auto insurability requirements.
The ideal candidate will have experience with expansive soil, heave prediction, shallow and deep foundations, and local geology, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Strong multitasking abilities and excellent organizational skills are essential.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires regular physical activity, including sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. The work environment may involve exposure to construction sites and hazardous materials, necessitating adherence to safety protocols.
