We are seeking a dedicated Procurement Specialist to manage the acquisition of materials, supplies, and services for our operations. This role involves ensuring that purchases are made under the most advantageous conditions for the organization. The Procurement Specialist will assist in various projects with a focus on supporting the team in a structured environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Notify relevant teams regarding any delivery challenges that could affect customer commitments.
  • Confirm purchase orders and update them with necessary delivery timelines.
  • Revise purchase orders associated with returns and inquiries, informing the appropriate personnel.
  • Support the quoting process as needed.
  • Coordinate logistics for supplier pick-ups.
  • Assist the Quality Control department with documentation requests from clients.
  • Utilize MRP data to assess material requirements, including specifications, preferred suppliers, and delivery dates to optimize production efficiency.
  • Evaluate new material specifications to identify potential suppliers and assess costs.
  • Solicit and review proposals for required materials.
  • Maintain communication with suppliers regarding service quality, inventory levels, and material logistics.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Experience in purchasing is essential.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a production or manufacturing setting, or customer support role.
  • Experience with ERP systems is required; familiarity with xTuple is a plus.
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong personal initiative, motivation, and a positive outlook.
  • Understanding of supply and demand dynamics.
  • Familiarity with scheduling systems.
  • Proficient in problem-solving and planning.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks with minimal oversight and effective prioritization.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication skills across various departments and levels of management.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others and convey requirements to non-direct reports.
