The Role:

VeSync is looking for a Proofreader to guarantee the precision, uniformity, and clarity of written materials across our four brands (Levoit, Cosori, Pawsync, Etekcity) for both print and digital media. This includes manuals, app content, recipe books, blogs, advertisements, video materials, and website text.

This position is part of the Content Writing team, allowing you to work closely with Copywriters, Technical Writers, and Copy Editors to uphold copy standards, enhance content, and maintain the unique voice of each brand. Given the variety of content to manage, the Proofreader must be adept at working efficiently under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and proofread a variety of content types, including product descriptions, website text, emails, blogs, video scripts, user manuals, print materials, packaging, social media posts, and visual assets.
  • Correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and syntax errors.
  • Ensure consistency in style, tone, and formatting in line with company guidelines.
  • Verify the accuracy of facts, figures, and dates.
  • Collaborate with writers and editors to clarify ambiguities and resolve inconsistencies.
  • Ensure all content adheres to the established style guide.
  • Assist in developing content policies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with copyright laws and ethical standards in all published materials.
  • Exhibit meticulous attention to detail in a fast-paced environment to prevent grammatical errors and ensure user-friendliness.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong command of the English language and grammar.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
  • Editing and strong writing skills, with the ability to adapt to both creative and technical styles across print and digital platforms.
  • Proficiency in utilizing editing tools and style guides (e.g., AP Stylebook, Chicago Manual of Style).
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced and diverse work environment with multiple high-priority projects.
  • Experience with consumer goods, electronics, home appliances, apps, and/or smart devices is advantageous.
  • Exposure to technical writing is beneficial but not required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
