Job Title: HN Technical Operations Engineer I

We are seeking an experienced Technical Operations Engineer to join our team at Cox Communications. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for designing and testing network architectures, testing and validating code functionality, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of our network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and test network architectures to ensure scalability and reliability
  • Test and validate code functionality to ensure seamless integration
  • Assess and define testing strategy and test cases to ensure comprehensive coverage
  • Assist in equipment evaluations, equipment selection, pilot testing, and network designs to ensure reliability and scaled expansion of the network
  • Support deployments of new services, systems, applications, and architectures with installation, configuration, integration, evaluation, testing, documentation, and training
  • Resolve outage and trouble conditions on network platforms
  • Provide technical operations support and consultation to field technical operations teams
  • Provide telecommunication solutions to meet business needs
  • Conduct equipment evaluations, equipment selection, pilot testing, and network designs to ensure reliability and scalability
  • Develop network element technical specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Support new product deployments with installation, integration, testing, documentation, and training
  • Configure router and switch technologies to ensure optimal network performance
  • Establish network performance measurements and goals to ensure continuous improvement
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure the network is available and configured to meet business demands
  • Develop methods and procedures for equipment migration to ensure seamless transition
  • Provide technician-based support onsite to support customers when needed
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or similar technical degree) or 4 years' experience in a related field in lieu of a degree
  • Experience solving complex technical and engineering problems requiring rapid acquisition and application of technical industry information and skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Visio
  • Experience utilizing working knowledge of various manufacturers' telecommunications equipment
  • Network+, RCDD, CCNA, CCNP certifications preferred
  • Experience with documentation (e.g., GR-1275) and telecommunications industry desired
  • Operational knowledge of signal loss budgeting, layer one infrastructure, fiber technologies, Telcordia standards, DC power and distribution, and ability to implement and maintain compliance
  • Experience with Extreme Networking Equipment and Networks
Compensation:

Base salary: $77,700.00 per year. Position may be eligible for additional compensation, including an incentive program.

Cox Communications offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations. Seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members.

Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, parental leave, and COVID-19 vaccination leave.
