Position Overview
This is a non-classified role within the State of Colorado.
General Information
The nursing programs are structured to cultivate skilled, ethical, and confident healthcare professionals within a progressive, inclusive, and supportive educational framework. Collaborating closely with the Practical Nursing Program Chair and fellow nursing educators, the incumbent will be responsible for delivering theoretical, laboratory, and clinical instruction.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:
- Overseeing curriculum development and implementation.
- Conducting didactic, simulation, laboratory, and clinical teaching.
- Providing mentorship and remediation for students.
- Maintaining precise records in compliance with State Board of Nursing and ACEN standards.
- Participating in faculty meetings and committees that further the nursing program's mission.
Instructors may be required to teach during daytime, evening, and weekend hours as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must possess any equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The following are required:
- Education: A Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution. Candidates holding a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and currently pursuing a Master's degree will also be considered.
- Experience: A minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, adeptness in data gathering and report preparation, effective oral and written communication, teamwork capabilities, and the ability to engage students dynamically in the learning process.
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following are preferred:
- Specialized training in Mental Health, Geriatrics, and/or Community Health.
- At least one year of teaching experience at the PN level or higher.
- Familiarity with State Board of Nursing regulations and nursing program accreditation processes.
Licensure/Certification: Current Colorado RN license.
