Job Description Summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled Digital Technology Leader to manage information technology for our Manufacturing site at Rutland, VT. As the Site IT leader, you will be responsible for the performance and availability of IT infrastructure and applications, as well as partner with the business to enable process transformation and strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set IT Strategy and Roadmap: Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy and roadmap to drive digital improvements across the site.
  • Represent IT on the Shop Leadership Team: Collaborate with the shop leadership team to represent information technology and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Partner with the Business: Work closely with the business to participate in lean and process improvement initiatives, leveraging digital tools to drive transformation.
  • Lead Software Solution Evaluation and Implementation: Evaluate, implement, and modify various software solutions, including ERP, MES, and Analytics solutions, to support business needs.
  • Resolve Systemic Issues: Collaborate with central digital product teams to resolve systemic recurring issues or enhancement needs.
  • Machine Instrumentation Initiatives: Work on machine instrumentation initiatives to enable enhanced business operations.
  • Network Performance Monitoring: Proactively monitor network performance (WAN/LAN/WLAN) and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Digital Workspace Management: Manage and coordinate all Digital Workspace technology.
  • IT Infrastructure Support: Support all printers, MFPs, on-site A/V, and telecommunications equipment.
  • Shop Floor PC Deployment: Manage and coordinate the deployment and support of shop floor PCs.
  • Networking Infrastructure Support: Provide on-site support for networking infrastructure.
  • IT Issue Escalation: Escalate IT issues affecting site production and provide on-call support as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 6 years of professional experience, or an Associate's degree with a minimum of 9 years of professional experience, or a High School Diploma with a minimum of 11 years of professional experience.
  • Manufacturing IT Leadership Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Manufacturing IT Leadership.
  • Matrixed Organization Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience working in a large matrixed organization.
Desired Skills:
  • Manufacturing IT Experience: Experience working IT in a manufacturing environment.
  • 24x7x365 Technical Operations: Hands-on experience in 24x7x365 technical operations.
  • Infrastructure Design and Management: Experienced in design, performance, availability, and scalability of the infrastructure.
  • MES and Lean Six Sigma: Demonstrated ability to manage infrastructure and manufacturing execution systems (MES) and demonstrated understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles.
  • Team and Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage team and product operations within own budget and drive projects based on business strategies and customer requirements.
  • Customer Focus: Demonstrated customer focus, managing technical issues in complex, difficult, or stressful situations, and evaluating decisions through the eyes of the customer.
