Job Overview

The Project Superintendent plays a pivotal role in overseeing, scheduling, and coordinating all on-site construction activities. This position is essential for maintaining safety standards, ensuring timely project delivery, and upholding the quality of work while adhering to budget constraints.

Reporting Structure:
Reports directly to the Project Executive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and make critical decisions regarding work performance, including scheduling, logistics, quality assurance, and staffing levels for trade employees.
  • Facilitate collaboration among various trades to ensure a seamless project operation.
  • Address and resolve local issues related to procedures, design clarifications, labor and equipment adequacy, and scheduling.

Additionally, the Project Superintendent is responsible for:

  • Implementing and overseeing the site safety program, ensuring compliance with Source Building Group standards and all relevant safety regulations.
  • Supervising and mentoring Field Engineers and interns, providing performance feedback and evaluations.
  • Creating detailed work schedules and determining the sequence of operations.
  • Developing and executing recovery strategies to keep the project on track.
  • Engaging with owners and architects/engineers to address field-related issues and resolving them effectively.
  • Participating in the billing process, overseeing work completion estimates, payroll, material invoices, and subcontractor payments.
  • Ensuring all work complies with approved contract documents.
  • Contributing to preconstruction activities such as bidding, estimating, and constructability reviews.
  • Possessing a thorough understanding of Data Center infrastructure, particularly regarding fiber installation and management.
  • Being well-versed in JHA/JRA forms related to on-site safety management.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree or a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • BICSI ICT Certification: RTPM – Registered Telecommunications Project Manager Certification.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, contract documents, and specifications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling software such as P6 or Microsoft Projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, and project schedules.

Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.

  • OSHA 10 or 30 Certification is required.
Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this position require the ability to climb stairs, use construction personnel hoists, and navigate construction sites. Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This role also requires the use of hands for handling tools and controls, as well as the ability to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employees may occasionally need to lift and/or move heavy objects.
