Clinical Equipment Specialist with Expert Repair and Maintenance Skills

Norton Healthcare is a leading healthcare provider in the region, serving adult and pediatric patients from throughout Greater Louisville, Southern Indiana, the commonwealth of Kentucky and beyond. As a Senior Clinical Engineering Specialist, you will be an integral part of our team, responsible for the repair, calibration, and maintenance of specialized equipment technologies, devices, instruments, and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, install, and provide preventive maintenance of specialized equipment, including imaging devices/systems and others as designated by Clinical Engineering leadership.
- Instruct more junior co-workers and provide informal supervision in the absence of the supervisor.
- Independently evaluate, design, and re-design departmental procedures.
- Consult with radiologists, cardiologists, or other providers who work with specialized equipment to ensure clinical principles are understood.
- Possess manufacturer certification to service specialized equipment and maintain a general knowledge of related specialized equipment.
Requirements:
- An Associate's degree with five years of experience in repairing and maintaining complex clinical equipment, or completion of an Electronics or U.S. Military Biomedical equipment technology program and five years of experience in repairing and maintaining complex clinical equipment without an Associate's degree.
- Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician, Certified Laboratory Equipment Specialist, or Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (desired).
We offer a competitive salary, estimated at $70,000 - $90,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include paid vacation, sick days, and holidays, paid parental leave, 403b/401k retirement plan, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and more.
