Norms Restaurants, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Clerk to support the F&B Department in the administration of purchasing and related projects. This role will involve day-to-day operations of our company-owned distribution system and collaboration with the Norms Accounting Department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurate Store Order Entry: Ensure accurate entry of store orders using 10-key by touch.
  • Product Shortage and Quality Issues: Follow up on product shortages, quality issues, and apply credits if necessary.
  • Accounts Receivable and Payable: Process AR and AP for distribution company (Select) and Norms Restaurants.
  • Reports and Inventory Management: Prepare reports on product usage, price lists, and inventory balance (weekly basis & period ending). Maintain accurate inventories (Select & US Growers Cold Storage).
  • Purchase Order Management: Place purchase orders with vendors at contract or negotiated prices. Verify accuracy of cost, quantities, and product specs upon receipt; resolve discrepancies as they arise.
  • Inventory Forecasting and Management: Maintain minimum inventory levels and forecasting.
  • Communication and Coordination: Maintain open channels of communication written and verbal with vendors, stores (chefs, managers, service directors & others), and Select drivers. Coordinate pick-ups with Select drivers.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain updated records, reports, and files on vendors. Assist in development of training materials for LTOs and other related projects.
  • Clerical and Administrative Duties: Assist with any related clerical/administrative duties. Receive, manage, and store all samples for cuttings. Pick and prepare Select items (stored at the office) for delivery. Receive and store Select items (stored at the office). Keep office storeroom clean and organized.
Requirements:
  • 10-Key by Touch: Proficiency in 10-key by touch.
  • Basic Accounting Skills: Basic accounting skills.
  • Typing Speed: Typing speed of 40-50 wpm.
  • Math Skills: Basic math skills.
  • Multi-Tasking and Attention to Detail: Ability to multi-task and high level of accuracy.
  • Computer Proficiency: Strong computer proficiency including Word, Excel, Publisher, and Power Point. Ability to learn new computer software programs quickly.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent typing and keyboard skills. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Highly organized.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact well with other departments, restaurants, and vendors. Restaurant or food distribution experience a plus.
  • Physical Demands: Energetic and positive attitude. Able to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Reports to: Purchasing Manager and Director of Purchasing.
