Medical Office LPN Gastroenterology Department- Norwalk, CT

To provide medical care to patients in a gastroenterology department, assisting physicians or APRNs with exams and patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in medical knowledge and terminology, with the ability to obtain accurate patient vitals and administer medications.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare materials and equipment for patient exams, and assist physicians or APRNs with medical procedures.
- Collect and analyze patient specimens, and instruct patients on preventive care and medication management.
- Provide direct patient care, including injections and vital sign collection.
- Document patient information in EMR, and communicate with patients via phone to provide test results and instructions.
- Perform organizational responsibilities to achieve the Practice's and WCMG missions through quality improvement.
- Fulfill compliance responsibilities related to the position, and maintain Nuvance Health Foundational Values.
Requirements:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of starting.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification.
- Licensed Practical Nurse licensure.
- Basic medical knowledge and terminology.
- Computer skills/data entry.
- Skilled in obtaining accurate patient vitals.
- Vaccine administration and medication preparation.
Preferred:
- One year of experience in a medical setting.
- Proficiency in multiple languages.
- Phlebotomy and EKG skills.
Working Conditions:
- Sedentary/light effort, with occasional manual skills required.
- Generally pleasant working conditions.
