Job Title: Production Technician

Production Technician - Bicycle & Ski/Snow

Job Summary

The Production Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate assembly, quality control, and packaging of bicycles to Erik's Bike Shop Inc's high standards. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble bicycles efficiently and accurately, meeting Erik's quality standards.
  • Conduct quality control checks and enforce quality standards for other staff members' assembled bicycles and sporting goods equipment.
  • Prepare and ship bicycles and equipment to customers, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Perform warranty work and special projects as assigned by Assembly Department Management.
  • Assist with ski and snowboard lease program preparation and customer repair services.
  • Provide feedback to Assembly Department Management and Leads on efficient production workflow and technique.
Department Operations
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Organize and maintain tools and workspaces daily to department standards.
  • Assist with light janitorial duties, including sweeping, mopping, and removing trash and cardboard.
Development
  • Continuously seek coaching and training to improve skills and knowledge.
  • Obtain advanced technical skills and equipment certifications as assigned by Assembly Department Management.
  • Be open to new assignments and responsibilities as Erik's product and service offerings expand.
Requirements
  • Prior mechanical experience in the bicycle, motorcycle, automotive, or construction trades is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of computers and technology.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to stand and use hands to complete mechanical productions and product handling for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs while utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
  • Exposure to various chemicals, including grease, cleaning solutions, and ski/snowboard cleaning and waxing agents.
