BSM Director, Texas Campus

The Baptist Student Ministry (BSM) Director is a key leadership position responsible for guiding the overall direction of the campus ministry. This role requires a strong understanding of the Baptist Student Ministry's vision and a commitment to engaging college students in evangelism, discipleship, missions, and church life.
Key Responsibilities- Direction and Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the campus ministry, ensuring alignment with the Baptist Student Ministry's vision and goals.
- Evangelism and Discipleship: Develop and implement effective evangelism and discipleship strategies to engage students in sharing the Gospel and growing in their faith.
- Missions and Church Life: Foster partnerships with local churches and Baptist organizations to promote missions and church life among students.
- Ministry Development: Collaborate with the local leadership group to develop and implement a comprehensive ministry plan, including budget planning and financial reporting.
- Staff Supervision: Provide guidance and supervision to direct reports, ensuring their professional growth and development.
- Communication and Collaboration: Maintain effective communication with the Center for Collegiate Ministry, local churches, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and ministry advancement.
To be successful in this role, the BSM Director must possess:
- A master's degree from an accredited seminary (Baptist Seminary preferred)
- Active membership in a church supportive of the BGCT and a cooperating church within the Association
- Commitment to Christian principles and teachings, with knowledge of and commitment to traditional Baptist distinctives, denominational structure, and church programs
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to relate positively to a broad spectrum of persons
- Ability to communicate the vision of BSM both locally and state-wide
- Strong evangelistic skills and proficiency in interpersonal and conversational skills for sharing the message of Jesus Christ
- Ability to develop each believer into a global Christian, assisting students in discovery of how God's Spirit leads the Church in reaching the world for Christ
- Personal spiritual discipline that models a proactive stance toward personal, spiritual, and relational health
- Ability to travel to various geographic locations, including travel by car and some overnight stays
- Proficient working knowledge and ability to use various software, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Ability to speak, read, and write English, with proficiency in Spanish a plus
