Position Overview
As a Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities
- Providing tailored patient care as outlined in the individualized care plan, addressing the physical, emotional, cultural, spiritual, psychosocial, and educational needs of patients.
- Monitoring and accurately documenting patient conditions, which may involve tracking vital signs, managing drains, dressing wounds, and interpreting lab results.
- Communicating effectively with the supervising Registered Nurse or Physician regarding patient observations, responses, and any changes in status.
- Ensuring the confidentiality and accuracy of patient medical records.
- Collecting and documenting relevant data as directed, potentially utilizing specialized equipment such as glucometers and pulse oximeters.
- Guiding patients and their families through room and unit routines.
- Administering medications and documenting their administration in accordance with established policies.

Supervisory Role
This position does not involve management responsibilities and will report to a designated supervisor or manager.
Qualifications
- Completion of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program accredited by the South Carolina State Board of Nursing.
- A minimum of one year of experience as an LPN is preferred.
Licensure Requirements
- Must hold a valid LPN license in South Carolina.
Alternative Qualifications
- In lieu of one year of experience, candidates who have successfully completed the Prisma Health Nurse Residency Program or a comparable residency program may be considered.
- Candidates may also be considered if they have completed a program recognized as equivalent by the South Carolina State Board of Nursing.
Work Schedule
This position operates on a day shift.
