Bakery Specialist Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Bakery Specialist to join our team at Bashas'.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and decorate a variety of bakery products, including cakes, pastries, and breads.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, answering phones and taking orders in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to high standards of food safety and sanitation.
  • Process cash register transactions, handle customer payments, and maintain accurate records.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and achieving sales goals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team objectives and promote a positive work environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with product knowledge, including ingredients, pricing, and promotions.
  • Participate in visual merchandising and display of bakery products to drive sales and customer engagement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and equipment maintenance.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 1 year of experience as a cake decorator or in a related bakery role preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and achieving sales goals.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a positive and friendly attitude.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a walk-in cooler and freezer.
  • Basic math skills and ability to operate a cash register, scanner, and other equipment.

Working Conditions: This role requires working in a fast-paced bakery environment, with exposure to heat, cold, and noise. The ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities is essential.
