Research Assistant in Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience

The University of California, Irvine, School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to join our team in the Translational Cognitive and Affective (TCAN) Laboratory.

As a Research Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting the research efforts of our laboratory, which focuses on understanding the neural mechanisms of cognitive dysfunction in individuals with mental illness. You will work closely with our team to coordinate and implement various research projects, including data collection, data analysis, and manuscript preparation.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating and implementing research studies, including participant recruitment, data collection, and data analysis
  • Assisting with data management and statistical analysis
  • Preparing and editing research manuscripts and presentations
  • Collaborating with laboratory members to develop and implement research protocols
  • Providing administrative support to the laboratory, including managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and maintaining laboratory records

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field, and experience with research methods and statistical analysis. Previous experience with programming languages, such as R or Python, is a plus.

This is a full-time, 12-month appointment with the potential for renewal. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
