Job Summary

One Tech is seeking a highly skilled Plant Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for managing emergent capital projects at our plant and supporting larger base and major capital projects specific to the facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Develop project scopes and justifications, submit them through the capital request process, and manage all related projects.
  • Technical Expertise: Apply extensive technical expertise and have an understanding of the basic principles of other related disciplines.
  • Project Execution: Attend daily POD meetings, oversee project execution, manage administrative tasks like developing scopes of work, obtaining quotes, and coordinating material deliveries and installations.
  • Leadership: Demonstrate technical skills and core competencies for this engineering level by applying technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to lead projects of moderate to large size, scope, and complexity.
  • Technical Documentation: Support the development of technical documentation (including but not limited to designs, testing, calculations, reports, standards, etc.).
  • Field Engineering: Provide field engineering oversight and direction for activities such as support, testing, installation, inspections, commissioning, etc.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate/lead multiple projects or portions of projects (including phases such as research, design, equipment selection, procurement, installation, and commissioning).
  • Technical Representation: Represent the organization as the prime technical contact in the bid/evaluation processes, including preparation of bid documents, completion of technical evaluations for proposals, and providing recommendations for selection.
  • Communication: Interact with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination with internal and external organizations.
  • Team Management: May assign tasks to and/or direct engineers, technicians, craft personnel, and other support staff, including coordination and review of work assignments.
  • Professional Development: Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers and be responsible for continuous self-development of technical skills and competencies.
  • Business Operations: Lead activities such as budgeting, estimating, forecasting, accounting, work order management, in support of engineering projects.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing/plant environment.
  • Education: Bachelor's of Engineering degree.
  • Project Management: Previous experience with project management and project plan development, charters, managing budgets, and good with managing money, etc.
  • Contractor Management: Previous experience managing contractors.
  • Project Management Experience: Experience with cradle-to-grave project management.
  • Software Skills: Experience using SAP and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to multi-task and juggle several tasks, good communication skills, and completed the FE (fundamentals in engineering) exam or would like to.
