Working Conditions

Physical Demands

Education and Training

Deputy Sheriffs must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to pass a background check and physical fitness test. They must also complete ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest laws and procedures.

Language Skills

Deputy Sheriffs must be able to communicate effectively with the public and other law enforcement agencies. They must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
