Job Summary

The Section Foreman/Front Line Supervisor will lead a team in a continuous mining section at the mine and is expected to be a role model; upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and policies regarding mine safety, health, and environment to oversee the daily operations of a section in an underground coal mine.
  • Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of the continuous mining section, including equipment, personnel, and materials.
  • Implement preventive and corrective measures to minimize risks and hazards in the mine.
  • Conduct regular inspections, audits, and assessments of the mine conditions, equipment, and operations, and report any issues or incidents.
  • Provide training, coaching, and feedback to team members and evaluate their performance and development.
  • Enforce the compliance of all team members and contractors with mine safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with management and provide accurate, timely reports and data.
Requirements
  • A degree in mining engineering or related discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in an underground operation with production supervisory responsibilities would be advantageous.
  • A valid Alabama Mine Foreman Certificate is required.
  • Proficiency in using and maintaining continuous mining equipment and systems.
  • Proven capacity to effectively organize projects, outline priorities, and direct the workflow in a results-oriented fashion.
