- Design Support: Provide design support on multiple projects, lead designs on smaller projects, and maintain high standards of work product.
- Quality Control: Ensure quality control for peers and provide technical support as needed.

- Project Coordination: Assist the project manager with schedule and budget requirements.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- Registration: Registration as a P.E. in the State of Virginia is desirable.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in highway engineering design.
- Skills: Strong technical design background in highway design, familiar with VDOT, AASHTO, FHWA, and MUTCD standards, and knowledge of CADD/Design Software.
- Teamwork: Demonstrate teamwork and possess written and oral communication skills.
