Job Description

As a Medical Procedures Coordinator, your primary responsibility will be to facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures. You will work closely with our surgical team to prepare the operating suite, ensure that equipment and instruments are in good working order, and pass instruments to the physician during surgery.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Preparing the surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment, and supplies
  2. Ensuring good working order of equipment and instruments, and assisting with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients
  3. Passing instruments to the physician during surgery, and continually accounting for the number and location of instruments and supplies
  4. Receiving and processing specimens for delivery to the laboratory
Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A High School diploma or GED, or Military training
  • A State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration
  • 6 months of Surgical Tech experience or graduation from an accredited Surgical Tech program
  • A Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
