As a Principal IT Software Engineer, you will work closely with other engineers on the team to design, develop, and deploy scalable and highly reliable business systems. You will be responsible for determining project requirements, developing work schedules, and driving alignment across development teams in a data-oriented and transparent way.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable and highly reliable business systems
  • Expertly operate in an agile development environment
  • Determine project requirements and develop work schedules for the team
  • Drive alignment across development teams in a data-oriented and transparent way
  • Balance security debt, product stability, and features against go-to-market pressures and timelines
  • Mentor and challenge engineers to continue growing in their discipline

Requirements:

  • At least 12 years of experience in system software development
  • Experience in software development with web servers
  • Understanding of protocols like DNS, HTTP, and TCP/IP
  • Good grasp of asynchronous programming, multithreading, and multiprocessing
  • Able to troubleshoot system-level integration and performance issues
  • Fast learner and eager to absorb new emerging technologies
  • Can-do attitude on problem-solving, quality, and ability to execute
  • Enjoys working with different teams with strong collaboration and communication skills
  • MS/BS in Computer Science or equivalent or equivalent military experience required
  • Full stack system architecture (API/Web/DB/Distributed systems)
  • Back-end: Java (Spring Boot, Spring Security), C# - Web APIs
  • Database: At least one of the following
    • MySQL/PostgreSQL/MSSQL/RDS
    • MongoDB/FireStore/Redshift
  • Must be onsite at HQ

Platforms:

  • At least one of the following - GCP (preferred)/AWS/Azure
  • Experience with developing UI with React and Sparky framework
  • Experience developing container-based applications
  • Experience with BigQuery
