About the Role

The City of Zephyrhills is seeking dedicated and skilled individuals to join our team as Wastewater Service Workers. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our wastewater treatment plant and sewer collection systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the construction, upkeep, and repair of wastewater treatment facilities and sewer networks.
  • Operate heavy machinery such as backhoes, trenchers, front loaders, and boring machines for various maintenance tasks.
  • Inspect and service lift stations and other essential equipment.
  • Carry out repairs to both wastewater and water systems.
  • Perform general maintenance duties to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Prior experience in water and/or sewer systems is highly valued.
  • You must possess a State of Florida Class C Wastewater Collections Technician certification, or be prepared to obtain it within eighteen months of employment.
  • Applicants should have a strong understanding of Work Zone Safety requirements.
  • A valid Class B CDL with an air brake endorsement is essential, or the ability to acquire one within six months of employment.
