Role Responsibilities

As a member of KIPP St. Louis High School, you possess a passion for mathematics, whether it came easily to you or was once a challenge. You are eager to assist students in their mathematical journeys, helping them to connect their academic work with real-world applications. You envision yourself guiding students in solving equations or proving theorems, firmly believing that every child can achieve success with the right support.

Position Type: Full-time, Exempt, 10 months

Daily Expectations

Curriculum Design and Instruction:

  • Adapt and implement a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum.
  • Create academically challenging lessons, unit plans, rubrics, and assessments.
  • Utilize data to guide instructional choices.
  • Provide daily feedback to students regarding their performance and tailor plans to meet individual learning needs.

Fostering a Positive School and Classroom Environment:

  • Embody and uphold the school's values, policies, and culture.
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, colleagues, and staff.
  • Maintain strong communication with parents and share student progress.
  • Effectively supervise and manage a classroom of up to 30 students.
  • Participate in essential school events, including staff meetings and parent-teacher conferences.

Qualifications

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree (REQUIRED)
  • Valid Missouri Teacher Certification, Missouri Substitute Certification, or willingness to obtain certification promptly (REQUIRED)
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Background Check.
  • Demonstrated commitment to closing the opportunity gap.
