Linguistics Professor

We are seeking a highly qualified applied linguist to join our faculty at the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. The successful candidate will have a strong background in second language learning, teacher training, and language program development, as well as expertise in language learning and technology, language assessment, or heritage language learning.

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in linguistics and language-related fields
• Conduct research in applied linguistics, with a focus on second language learning and language program development
• Develop and implement language programs and curricula
• Collaborate with colleagues on language-related initiatives and projects

• Ph.D. in Spanish, Linguistics, or a related field
• Strong record of curricular and programmatic contributions and graduate student mentorship
• Experience in applying for and obtaining external grants and fellowships

Applicants must submit a letter of interest, CV, three letters of recommendation, a research statement, a teaching statement, and two representative publications. The search committee will begin reviewing applications on October 1, 2024, and continue until the position is filled.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Position funding is subject to budget availability.
