About the Role

As a Mechanic at First Student, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our fleet of vehicles. Our team of skilled technicians performs routine maintenance and repairs to ensure our buses are in top condition for transporting students and passengers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with our fleet vehicles
  • Assist with mobile emergency services and respond to roadside calls
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely completion of work orders and maintain a safe and efficient work environment
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience working with automotive, diesel, electric, or CNG vehicles
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to obtain a CDL (training provided)
  • Mechanic's tool set and ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • ASE testing and certification a plus
What We Offer
  • Competitive hourly rate of $30-$35 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
  • $5,000 sign-on bonus (conditions apply)
  • ASE incentive of $0.25 per hour for each relevant ASE obtained
  • Monday-Friday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm full-time shift
  • Annual allowances for boots and prescription safety glasses
