POSITION OVERVIEW

The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for promptly responding to patient call lights to assess their needs and relay information to the appropriate healthcare personnel.
Candidates must possess the ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic to ensure accurate patient identification and to record weights, intake and output, and vital signs.

WORK LOCATION: Rochester Regional Health

DEPARTMENT: Medical/Surgical Unit

SCHEDULE: 8 Hour, Variable

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Certification as a Nursing Assistant required.
  • Ability to perform assigned routine patient care tasks effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact compassionately with patients, especially those who may be unwell or distressed.
  • BLS certification required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Respond to patient call lights in a timely and courteous manner to assess their needs and communicate with the appropriate staff.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, and performing arithmetic for accurate patient identification and to document weights, intake and output, and vital signs.
  • Deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel.
  • Provide exemplary customer service to patients and their families.
  • Report patient conditions to licensed nursing staff to support positive health outcomes.
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic environment for patients and their families.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing, or squatting.

SALARY RANGE:
$21.83

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of potential base pay for a successful full-time applicant. It may be adjusted in the future and is eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
