Supportive Care Specialist

About the RoleWe are seeking a Supportive Care Specialist to join our team at Second Family Inc., where you will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to provide exceptional care to our clients. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver personalized support services that cater to the unique needs of each individual, promoting their independence, dignity, and overall well-being.
Responsibilities- Personal Care and Daily Activities: Assist clients with personal hygiene, meal preparation, and other essential tasks, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the day.
- Caregiving Practices: Implement safe caregiving techniques, adhering to infection control and safety protocols, to minimize the risk of harm or injury to clients.
- Mobility Assistance: Safely transport and transfer clients as needed, using equipment such as wheelchairs and gait belts, while maintaining good body mechanics.
- Client Engagement: Encourage clients to participate in physical activities, such as simple exercises and ambulation, to promote increased mobility and overall health.
- Administrative Tasks: Assist with client admissions, transfers, and discharges, maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with healthcare teams.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications (e.g., First Aid, CPR) may be beneficial.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience working in group homes or similar settings; prior experience with medically fragile children is a plus.
