We are currently looking for a dedicated Health Care Aide who will provide essential personal care services, assist with medication administration, perform light housekeeping duties, and support meal service, while also engaging in social and recreational activities with residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct light housekeeping in resident suites and shared spaces.
  • Assist residents with personal care tasks such as dressing, bathing, and incontinence care.
  • Facilitate simple transfers for residents.
  • Respond calmly to medical emergencies.
  • Help with resident laundry and meal service as required.
  • Adhere to Care Plans and report any changes or concerns.
  • Collaborate with residents to meet their care needs.
  • Utilize knowledge, skill, judgment, and evidence-based practices in caring for aging adults.
  • Comply with provincial continuing care health service standards and regulations.
  • Promote safety through awareness of accident and injury prevention practices.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to support operational needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Completion of provincial Health Care Aide certification.
  • Registered with the provincial health care registry.
  • Completion of a Medication Administration course.
  • Experience in a residential care environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of infection control procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with residents, peers, and visitors.
  • Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple resident requests.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems effectively.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts.
  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods, bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Exhibit compassion, knowledge, and experience while assisting residents.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Completion of CPR and First Aid training.
  • Clear Police Information Check.
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • HCA Registry number.
