As a Residential Driver, you will be responsible for operating a refuse collection vehicle on pre-assigned routes to pick up garbage, yard waste, or recycling. You will oversee the work of helpers assisting on assigned routes, perform pre-trip and post-trip truck checks, and maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely drive a truck on pre-established routes in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Collect and dump garbage and refuse into refuse trucks while covering a designated residential route.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to the general public and customers, exhibiting a positive attitude towards company, customer, and municipal goals.
  • Ensure garbage and recyclables at residences are picked up and transferred properly.
  • Perform daily pre and post-trip inspections, complete safety reports, and maintain a clean truck.
  • Perform manual duties in the clean-up of scattered refuse, move and empty large trash bins using truck hydraulics.
  • Prepare and submit required company and regulation-mandated reports and documents.
  • Responsible for all persons working on the vehicle during the designated route.
  • Comply with all Department of Transportation and State requirements for operators of commercial motor vehicles.

Requirements:

  • Valid CDL license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects.
  • Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including heat, cold, snow, rain, wind, noise, and vibrations.

Working Environment:

Works in a variety of environment conditions, including wide temperature and weather variations.
