Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Engineering Technician to enhance the operational efficiency of our Test Lab at Tucker Parker Smith Group (TPS Group). This role involves a variety of technical tasks essential for maintaining the lab's functionality and supporting engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute tasks including the loading and unloading of drives, initiating various tests, and ensuring the cleanliness of the laboratory environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to bolster operations.
  • Maintain the operational readiness of the Reliability Test Lab, engaging in independent troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Oversee lab equipment calibration, manage inventory, and coordinate purchasing activities.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously during off-hours, facilitating debugging processes with international engineering teams.
  • Install 16x20 mm BGA components into appropriate sockets and adapter boards.
  • Conduct daily operational assessments on lab equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and rectify equipment malfunctions, liaising with external repair services as necessary.
  • Implement and validate upgrades to existing equipment.
  • Manage schedules for equipment calibration and perform internal calibration tasks.
  • Maintain comprehensive records pertaining to equipment calibration, repairs, inventory, and procurement.
  • Monitor and refresh the inventory of spare and operational parts.
  • Maintain regular communication with departmental teams regarding equipment status and project timelines.
  • Engage in departmental meetings to provide updates and contribute to ongoing discussions.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Associate's degree in a technical discipline, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in an engineering or reliability testing environment.
  • Proficient in basic PC applications (Windows/Mac, Office Suite, email clients).
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
  • Solid understanding of hardware setup, debugging, and fault tracing.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of PCIe/NVMe standards is a plus.
  • Experience in laboratory operations, including equipment calibration and inventory management.
  • Prior experience with SSD devices and related procurement processes is beneficial.
