Compensation and Benefits Coordinator

We are seeking a detail-oriented Compensation and Benefits Coordinator to join our team at Summit Medical Group. This role will involve processing payroll, managing benefits, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
About the OpportunityAs a key member of our HR team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to compensation and benefits, including processing bi-monthly payroll, calculating taxes and deductions, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities- Process bi-monthly payroll, including regular wages, overtime pay, commissions, and bonuses
- Calculate and withhold federal, state, and local taxes, as well as other deductions like garnishments and health insurance contributions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date data in the payroll system, including hours worked, pay rates, tax withholdings, and deductions
- Generate and reconcile payroll reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax regulations, and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and initiate direct deposit payments
- Address and respond to inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns
- Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations that may impact payroll processing
- Maintain a secure and confidential environment for payroll data
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong understanding of accounting principles and experience with payroll software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- A high level of organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion
- Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and proficiency in technical expertise
Previous experience in a payroll clerk role, healthcare industry experience, and knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations are highly desirable.
