We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Eau Claire County. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our buildings and grounds.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a full spectrum of custodial activities, including cleaning, maintenance, and repairs of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and other equipment.
- Utilize knowledge and experience of custodial procedures to maintain County facilities in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
- Perform general cleaning in office areas, including accurate use of cleaning agents and ability to read and follow written instructions.
- Apply knowledge of facilities maintenance to perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical, mechanical, plumbing, furnishings, and other equipment.
- Employ knowledge of maintaining lawns, fields, and ground to perform grounds maintenance duties, including proficient operation of groundskeeping equipment and tools.
- Maintain security by ensuring doors are locked after cleaning areas and securing building after normal business hours.
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six (6) months of custodial experience.
- Appointment will be conditional upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Must have valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Paid Time Off (PTO): Accrual is based on years of service with the County, starting at 6.4 hours accruing each pay period (20.8 days per year), with the maximum accrual rate of 35.75 days per year.
- Holidays: Eleven paid holidays.
- Retirement: The County provides a retirement account in Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS).
- Health Insurance: The County offers health insurance coverage, including vision, for employees and their families.
- Dental Insurance: The County offers dental insurance coverage for employees and their families.
- Flexible Spending Accounts: Eligible employees may use tax-free dollars to pay for eligible out-of-pocket dependent care, medical, dental, and eye care expenses for themselves and their eligible family members.
- Voluntary Short- and Long-term disability insurance, Accident, and Critical Illness Insurance: May be purchased at group rates.
- Life Insurance: The County provides the opportunity to purchase Whole and Term Life Insurance plans for themselves and their dependents.
