Battery Management System Pack Validation Engineer

Location: Auburn Hills, MI

We are seeking a highly motivated Battery Management System (BMS) Pack Validation Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for software validation on a pack level with a specific focus on State of Health, Performance, and Conformance.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with battery management system hardware and software for use in electrified vehicle powertrains. Responsibilities include setting up and commissioning battery packs on HV test benches, developing and executing test plans to meet program deliverables, navigating system-level issues, and performing troubleshooting/data analysis with stakeholders.

This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to support program development and verification milestones to launch the product successfully. The engineer must effectively coordinate test plans and provide regular updates on validation progress at critical project gates.

Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science with 1-3 years of experience
  • Understanding of Energy Storage Systems and Vehicle Electrification
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with knowledge of electrification architectures including EV, HEV, PHEV, and BSG systems
  • Highly motivated individual with excellent self-motivation
  • Basic understanding of DVP&R and DFMEA methodologies
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters' degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in vehicle electrification engineering
  • Advanced knowledge of automotive battery design and testing
  • Experience in Electrification integration or system validation
  • Proficiency in CAN communication, VECTOR tools, Canalyzer/Canoe, and ETAS INCA
  • Experience in Propulsion component dyno testing and automation
  • Change control and issue management tracking

Estimated Annual Salary: $120,000 - $150,000
