Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Beacon Health System. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory by collecting and processing patient specimens for testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect blood and other specimens from patients using various techniques, including venipuncture and capillary puncture.
  • Process and prepare specimens for testing, including labeling, aliquoting, and storing.
  • Enter orders for laboratory tests into our laboratory information system (LIS) and generate bar code labels for specimens.
  • Communicate with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely testing.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient specimens and test results.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest level of patient care.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; phlebotomy training or experience preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and move patients and equipment as needed.
  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures and regulations.
