In the role of Food Service Supervisor, you will oversee the preparation and serving of meals to inmates, ensuring adherence to established rules, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:


This role involves preparing substantial quantities of food, including meats, fish, poultry, gravies, cereals, soups, and vegetables, utilizing various cooking techniques and seasonings while adhering to appropriate preparation standards.

Main Duties Include:
  • Cooking meals as per the operational menu for the facility's food service.
  • Ensuring recipes meet the dietary needs of the facility's population.
  • Maintaining precise production records.
  • Directing and training Resident food service staff and supervising voluntary workers.
  • Conducting orientation and training sessions for staff.
  • Preparing schedules and ensuring the quality of all food and supplies.
  • Ordering food and supplies as directed by management, checking deliveries, and taking inventory as necessary.
  • Implementing sanitation and safety protocols throughout the department.
  • Assisting management in fostering positive client relations.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred college credits or relevant technical training in food service preparation or cooking.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in managing or producing large quantities of food in commercial, military, or institutional settings, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Prior training in cooking and correctional food service is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate production and service requirements to all personnel.
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.

Compensation:
Pay is set at USD $23.79 per hour.
