Key Responsibilities
  • Co-create, implement, and monitor the building school improvement plan, aligned with the Building Teacher Leadership Framework.
  • Facilitate Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to address common issues regarding curriculum, assessment, instruction, and student achievement.
  • Provide job-embedded professional development to enhance teacher instructional growth goals.
  • Establish clear and measurable goals focused on critical needs regarding overall student achievement.
  • Analyze and interpret data regularly to monitor progress toward school achievement goals.
Requirements
  • Standard Teaching License with three years of teaching experience, preferably in the Cedar Rapids Community School District.
  • Knowledge of equity principles, culturally responsive pedagogy, and the Building Leadership Team framework.
  • Ability to train and coach teachers in the New Art and Science of Teaching.
  • Experience with conducting professional learning activities and mentoring/coaching skills.
  • Knowledge of the Iowa Core Standards and Standards-Based Grading.
