Job Title: Automotive Equipment Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Equipment Mechanic to join our team at the City of Treasure Island, FL. As a key member of our Public Works department, you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and reconditioning of various gasoline and diesel-powered equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and diagnose malfunctions in gasoline and diesel-powered equipment
  • Repair and maintain engine cooling and air conditioning systems
  • Maintain detailed records of repairs for billing and scheduling purposes
  • Service transmission, hydraulic, compressed air, and electrical control systems and components
  • Repair and install electrical automotive apparatus, such as starters, alternators, distributors, and voltage regulators
  • Perform related work as assigned
Requirements:
  • High school graduation or completion of GED
  • Three to five years' experience as an automotive mechanic
  • Valid Florida Driver's License
  • CDL Class B license with passenger endorsement or ability to obtain within six months
Working Conditions:

This position requires working both indoors and outdoors, with frequent exposure to weather elements. Reasonable accommodation will be made for otherwise qualified individuals with a disability.
