Health Information Technology Instructor

We are seeking a highly qualified Health Information Technology Instructor to join our faculty at South Texas College. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the Health Information Technology program, ensuring they receive a comprehensive education in this field.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver high-quality instructional materials and courses that align with the program's learning objectives.
- Teach and assess student learning, using a variety of teaching methods and technologies to engage students and promote academic success.
- Advise and mentor students, providing guidance on academic and career goals.
- Participate in curriculum development and program assessment, ensuring the program remains relevant and effective.
- Collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders to promote the program and the college.
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or Associate's degree in Health Information Technology with three years of non-teaching related work experience.
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credential or Certified Coding Associate (CCA) credential.
- Experience in higher education, accreditation, and program development, with familiarity with the Essentials and Guidelines for Accredited Educational Programs.
