Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and expand our product and process understanding for the optical interconnect portfolio.
  • Build expertise with existing fiber termination processes & equipment, including knowledge to troubleshoot, maintain, and improve key equipment.
  • Conduct tests, analyze data, and draw conclusions based on samples built on the fiber termination equipment and loss testing.
  • Lead product changes and support process changes by ensuring they are carried out in accordance with change control procedures and by data-driven decisions.
  • Create, review, approve, and own product standards and test methods to support mass production.
  • Assist plants with complaint resolution by using root cause analysis to identify failure modes and prevent future quality issues.
  • Assist key customers through technical support and prepare samples.
  • Collaborate with local and business group manufacturing teams on division/value stream level projects focused on improving manufacturing operations.
  • Interface with a global team and contribute to new product development and support of existing platforms.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering or Science discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Five (5) years of hands-on technical or manufacturing experience with demonstrated strength in engineering/technical skills in a private, public, government or military environment.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Seven (7) years of previous technical manufacturing experience with demonstrated strength in engineering/technical skills in a private, public, government or military environment.
  • Experience and knowledge with a variety of laboratory test equipment.
  • Experience interpreting industry standards & product qualification testing.
  • Statistical data analysis experience.
  • Experience writing technical reports.
  • Experience providing work direction to others.
  • Communication skills (oral, written and presentation).
  • Microsoft Office proficient and/or Minitab proficient.

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid - 2 or 3 days a week)

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic, international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
