Position Overview:
Oversee, analyze, and evaluate information pertinent to Mechanical and Electrical systems essential for timely and safe project execution, adhering to budgetary constraints and quality standards outlined in the contract documents.
Key Responsibilities:
Specifically related to mechanical and electrical systems:
Direct the project team, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure effective coordination and optimal installation of systems.
Compile and manage a comprehensive list of contract items for all components, materials, and systems to ensure compliance with project timelines and approval processes.
Assess and manage the processing of Requests for Information (RFIs).
Oversee the budget, including the review, assessment, and negotiation of all change orders while maintaining an understanding of the financial status of subcontractors.
Collaborate with the VDC Engineer to lead the MEP Coordination Process, ensuring installations meet design specifications, operational requirements, and quality benchmarks.
Draft scope of work documents detailing responsibilities for trades and specific tasks for temporary operations.
Work alongside the MEP Superintendent to address conflicts between mechanical and electrical systems in alignment with site logistics and project timelines.
Conduct regular site inspections with MEP staff to verify compliance with contract documents, coordination drawings, and approved submissions.
Manage and secure all necessary municipal and agency documentation for temporary certificates of information and system operation.
Develop and implement a quality control plan in collaboration with the MEP Superintendent.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of four years of relevant engineering experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience related to mechanical and electrical systems.
Possess technical expertise and a comprehensive understanding of mechanical and electrical systems applicable to a diverse range of project types and their interrelations.
Exhibit business acumen to effectively plan, manage, and execute essential duties with strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational capabilities, and proficiency in computer applications.
Demonstrate leadership qualities to foster the development of a high-performing team.Physical Demands:
