Position Overview

As a Math Instructor at Sylvan, your core focus will be on delivering exceptional educational experiences. You will engage with students in a supportive environment, emphasizing personalized learning without the burden of lesson planning or extensive preparation.

We are seeking dedicated educators with expertise in upper-level mathematics. In this part-time role, you will receive comprehensive training on the Sylvan curriculum, equipping you with the necessary tools to facilitate instruction in a small group setting, specifically a 3:1 student-to-teacher ratio. Your role will involve guiding students through various mathematical concepts, from Algebra to Calculus.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction using Sylvan's structured programs
- Engage and motivate students during their learning sessions
- Acknowledge and reward student achievements
- Assess and document student progress
- Communicate effectively with the center director regarding student needs
- Foster a positive and inspiring learning atmosphere
- Build strong relationships with students to enhance their educational experience
- Maintain enthusiasm and a positive demeanor throughout teaching

Qualifications:
- Proficient knowledge in teaching or tutoring subjects including Calculus, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, and Trigonometry
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Availability to work on Saturdays and some weeknights
