Overview

As a vital member of the District Attorney's Office, the role involves providing essential support to individuals affected by crime. This position entails engaging with victims to gather information and offer guidance throughout the legal process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct interviews with crime victims to assess their needs and provide necessary information regarding legal proceedings.
  • Offer resources and referrals to support services available to victims.
  • Deliver crisis intervention and accompany victims to court hearings.
  • Perform risk assessments and develop safety plans tailored to individual circumstances.
  • Collaborate with external organizations to facilitate access to social services for victims.
  • Assist victims in navigating the crime victim's compensation application process.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned to support the mission of the office.
Qualifications

Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. No prior experience is necessary.

Essential Skills and Abilities

Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and the public while ensuring confidentiality.

Work Environment

This position is based in a standard office setting, which may require extended periods of sitting, standing, or walking, as well as the ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 lbs. without assistance.
