Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and nurture relationships with students, parents/caregivers, and educational staff.
  • Create a secure and stimulating learning atmosphere that aligns with the school's mission and values.
  • Assist the teaching team in various capacities, including:
    • Preparing and organizing materials and activities.
    • Executing segments of lessons as directed by the lead teacher.
    • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the classroom and storage areas.
  • Oversee and ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
  • Share observations and notes with the teacher to support student learning and growth.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, behavior, and parental interactions.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to understand key objectives and initiatives for the academic year.
  • Engage in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Assist with non-instructional tasks as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Teacher Assistant Coordinator and Division Director.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid Educational Aide permit issued by the Ohio Department of Education is required or must be obtained within three months of hire.
  • Prior experience working with middle school students is strongly preferred.
  • FBI/BCI background check is mandatory.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, move throughout a classroom, and navigate stairs in a two-story building.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
